Farmhouse bed and breakfast, award winning B&B on a Devon working farm near Modbury, South of Dartmoor in the South Hams, Devon.

Ugborough has a wealth of well-marked footpaths for those who want to explore the countryside on foot. We can recommend a wide variety of other walks in surrounding parishes through woods, fields and by rivers. Access to Dartmoor is only 1 1/2 miles away, and the South West Coast path and many beaches are within 8 miles.

A new venture, launched in July 2013, is Ugborough Sustainable Saturday, a market in minature, which is held in the Village Hall every other Saturday. For delicious local food, this is the place to go! Unusal jewellery, art, pottery and a variety of other crafts are all on sale, and a welcome cup of tea or coffee is on offer when you have had a look round. The neighbouring Village of Ermington holds a similar market on the alternate Saturday. Just what you need when looking for individual gifts to take home from your holiday!

Historic towns including Modbury, Totnes, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe are wonderful places to visit in the South Hams. There's outstanding architecture, stunning coastal views and their quirkiness make them a special part of your holiday. Many of the shops are very individual, allowing you to find treasured items to take home for family and friends. Totnes is said to be the 'alternative' capital of England, it makes a great day out.

If you enjoy delving around Antique shops, nearby Ashburton is the place to visit, from large antique furniture to pottery and linen, you've bound to find something of interest.

Spend time meandering through Devon's old streets, take time out and feel a sense a calm, enjoy a Devon cream tea and then break for lunch in one of the many small restaurants, inns or bistros. Take life at a somewhat slower pace and you'll savour every minute of your holiday.

For those of you who'd like to visit one of the many local attractions, there's the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, a wide range of National Trust properties and gardens all around Devon and if you venture into Cornwall, a day trip can encompass the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Once visited, you're bound to want to return to experience more of our unique county.
